Directory information refers to the contact details and professional affiliations of authors (such as name, email address, institutional affiliation and academic qualification). It does not include any sensitive information, financial details, or any data that could potentially compromise the privacy or security of individuals.
Journal’s Directory Information Deposit Policy
Anthropology Chronicle acknowledges the significance of preserving the privacy and confidentiality of authors. In order to uphold transparency and respect the privacy rights of authors, the following policy is implemented for handling directory information:
Collection and Storage of Directory Information
- Collection : During the manuscript submission process, authors are required to provide certain directory information for identification, correspondence, and academic verification purposes.
- Storage : The directory information provided by authors is securely stored in our editorial system and is accessible only to authorized personnel involved in the publication process.
- Data Security : We employ robust security measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the directory information we collect. These measures include encryption, restricted access controls, firewalls, and regular system audits.
Purpose and Use of Directory Information
- Identification : Directory information is used to identify and communicate with authors throughout the manuscript submission, review, and publication process. It helps to ensure accurate attribution and communication.
- Correspondence : The email address provided as part of the directory information may be used to send notifications, updates, and inquiries related to submission or publication of the manuscript. Authors may also receive periodic newsletters or announcements about the journal.
- Affiliation : Institutional affiliation of authors are usually published alongside the manuscript to acknowledge their contributions and affiliations within the academic community. This promotes transparency and facilitates professional recognition.
Data Protection and Retention
- Access : Only authorized personnel (such as managing editor, editorial board members, and technical support staffs), have access to the directory information of authors. They are mandated to maintain the confidentiality and security of this data.
- Data Sharing : Anthropology Chronicle Journal does not share directory information with any third party, except as required by law or with explicit consent from the authors. There is no selling, trading, or renting of this information to external organizations or individuals.
- Data Retention : Directory information serves as a repository for maintaining record of authors whose manuscripts have been published by the journal. Hence, data of authors is retained by the journal. However, authors have the right to request for modification or removal of their directory information. Such requests must be made to the journal’s managing editor who shall ensure to address the same within 07 working days.

- By submitting manuscript to Anthropology Chronicle, authors implicitly consent to collection, storage, and use of their directory information for the purposes outlined in this policy.
